APGPCL is the first gas based power plant to be set up in Andhra Pradesh and south India –a-tribute to the pioneering efforts of APSEB and the entrepreneurial spirit of Industries in Andhra Pradesh.

APGPCLis an innovative business model of Public- Private Partnership.

APGPCL was the forerunner of the concept of Captive Collective power plant which is now an integral provision of the Electricity Act, 2003.

APGPCL is the lowest cost Gas based electricity generating station in the country.Both Stage-I and Stage-II Plants of APGPCL were built ahead of the scheduled time and within the estimated costs.

APGPCL received Chief Minister’s Award for the highest PLF Achievement amongst Gas Power Stations in Andhra Pradesh, India for the year 2002-2003.
